23    In April 1970, the North Carolina Anvil published two articles about future Red Clay Ramblers.Bill Hicks wrote about Union Grove and his first trip there with the Fuzzy Mountain String Band.  The same issue also included "Peggin On in 1970 - An Interview with Banjo-player Tommy Thompson"
22    Jesse sent us some fabulous pictures that she will write about in the future.  We're leaving them to be mysteries for now.  Go to Jesse's Letters and click on Photo Album.

13   The Ramblers frequently used the 1976 "Beefalo" pic (named after their van) for their publicity and now the home page has been redesigned around this expressive pic.  Many thanks to Cece Conway for a print of her excellent picture of the Original Red Clay Ramblers.
3     Jesse's letters: Memories of Lone Star Love: The Merry Wives of Windsor, Texas from its beginnings in the early '70s.  The Red Clay Ramblers will be doing this show in Cleveland, Ohio, from October 18 - November 4, 2001

22     Added some Eno pics to Bill & Libby's concert page.
10     Busy day!  Reorganized the whole discography page on the site. We added a lot of links on where to buy ALL the music that the RCRs together and solo have made over the years.  Added a new pic page from Jim: Xmas at his house and The Cave and a 1997 benefit concert for Tommy Tompson

7    Jesse's letters: Jesse, David, and Joe Newberry visit Tommy

May, 2001
21    Mike's at it again.  He sent along a December, 1980 Cat's Cradle calendar that's a work of art and full of Blurs.  (And a tribute to the fallen John Lennon.)  And Mike got Chris Baker's permission to use his zany cartoon of the Blurs that was part of their 80's publicity.
11    "A Tune for Tommy" - Jesse's wonderful play (written with Jeff Storer and Ed Hunt), partially based on her letters on this site, has its own page for the reviews and news articles.  Read all about the workshop production.

14   Mike Craver sent some new pictures: RCR at the Ranch House with Diamond Studs, around the Beefalo, and a pic with a terrific article from Ed Davis of the Greensboro Daily News.  Now you'll know why Audio Magazine called the Ramblers "America's premier whatzit band."
